They have the shirts that say “Real Men Wear Pink” and now you can get your wrestling shoes in pink too.
I can’t say that I’d pick pink for my shoes, but I guess some wrestlers could pull them off no problem.
I’m not sure where you can find pink wrestling shoes, but I’m sure some guys would buy them if they could find a store that sold them.

They are made by Asics but I don’t know where/if you can purchase them.

Pink wrestling shoes may have existed in the past but they seem to have gone extinct. I have spent hours online with no luck. Either the shoes shown in the above pic were specially produced for the wearers, or it was photoshopped.
I have 2 daughters who are wrestling and would love to have some pinks.
Blacks with a hint of pink don’t count, need to score full on pink! There’s a lot of wrestlers out there, still don’t get why the selection is so limited.

Sorry folks – if you double click on the picture – you come up with the original story. The picture was taken in Japan. Pink is available so far only in Japan but cannot get in the U.S. Get on Adidas and Asics and email them and demand they start doing pink – not only for the girls but for all the fashionable young men out there also!
Found that asics japan carries a soft pink shoe. I think something like http://www.spotsman.jp distributes it.
I learned that if you find an intermediary purchaser gets it for you and ships it then you’re in it about $140 US for a $70 pair of shoes.
Why is it that when you Google or ebay from inside the US you are restricted to buying within the US boundaries?

I am unhappy about this whole thing.
Once again – why is it that asics USA says that asics japan is so seperate from asics USA that asics USA can’t get something from japan. I absolutely do not believe in accepting that there’s simply administrative and tariff differences that should be accepted as the norm, therefore it’s just the way it goes. I believe not being able to order a pair of darn shoes without jumping through hoops has everything to do with greed. Corporate greed. I should be able to order a pair of shoes from sportsman.jp or whatever and have them arrive here. I believe the only reason I cannot is because it would circumvent asics USA’s ability to net the profit on the sale. AM I wrong here???
I am very frustrated. I have spent wayyy too much time trying to acquire such a simple item. I’m ready to bust out the pink Sharpie pen to make this happen for my girls.

Again, Asics makes a pink shoe, but only for distribution in Japan. It still makes no sense.
I have 4 kids wrestling, 2 are girls. I have spent many hours searching for the pink ones. They simply are not available in the US.
Like I mentioned above, you can contact an intermediary buyer in Japan and pay basically the equivalent of about $140 to get them, or you can fly to Japan and get them yourself.
Stupid, I know.
What you can get via the “US free market” is limited to whatever the US marketers choose to make available to you.

Has anyone had any luck finding more specific information on how to purchase these shoes via an intermediary buyer in Japan? I have spent hours searching for and attempting to have these shoes sent from oversesas with no luck! An official Japan Wrestling Association store (site) found at http://members/jcom.home.ne.jp/ludussports/ takes to log in site. Click on Enter. Scroll down till you see Menu written in katakana. It takes you to the wrestling shoes. The top selection is of special order Asics all leather 23,100 Yen (about $ 220.00 USD. Click on Easy Order System written in English. It pops up special orders with 12 upper colors and 16 stripes colors available in any combination. Hot pink, purple, wine etc are available, with white, blue, red, etc stripe colors. Stripes can be ordered in solid single style or two tone stripes (stripe body color and stripe border color). A indicates stripe color, B represents the border color.
Get your intermediary to order and ship the shoes to your USA address. Shipping for Airmail will likely run around $50. The special order shoes will take about 2.5 months to complete the order.

It may require a Japanese friend who can read Japanese to help you order. The Japan company that makes custom order Asics wrestling shoes may not ship orders over seas. hello everyone!! I am the eliot of the original post http://www.flickr.com/photos/eliotandjenni/ where the picture came from. As luck would have it I am still living in Japan, and can get you guys/girls the shoes. I just spoke with an asics spokesman today and we are still working out the details to make things as easy and cost effective as possible, but here are a few things that are certain.
1.The basic shoe costs approx. $230-240 (the yen to dollar exchange rate changes the price)
2. It takes a little more than 2 months to make the shoe
3. all orders are non-returnable, non-refundable because every shoe is custom made (double check your shoe size)
4. you can also have your name/something stenciled in for about $15
I wrestled in college and high school and know how hard you guys work. I would like to get you guys what you want, and make things as easy as possible. As soon as we work out the details I will let you guys know my details. Hope you all had a great season!!
